Posting your resume on a large internet job search site isn’t looking for a job.
It’s having the job look for you. Looking for a job isn’t a passive activity. While this may satisfy certain unemployment requirements, it won’t be satisfying in terms of the results.
If you have a diverse skill set, have experience in more than one discipline or are looking to change environments, you need more than one resume.
Your skill set must directly mirror the skill set of the opportunity.
These should be demonstrated and quantified through accomplishments.
Lose your objective. An opportunity matching your skill set is the objective.
A resume can’t answer all questions.
Nor should it contain all the detail YOU want it to contain.
The resume should be designed so that in 30 seconds the reviewer knows who you are, what you’ve done, and how well you’ve done it.
